Our Journey

Company Overview

Jen O’Farrell Project Services is built on the belief that thoughtful structure empowers people. Whether supporting a one-person operation or a growing team, the right balance of planning, tools, and perspective can create breathing room, support good judgment, and keep things moving with purpose.

It’s not about perfection or control (though we can do that too).  It’s about rhythm, awareness, and making the most of the moment you’re in.

Values

Our Core Beliefs

Planning as a Conversation

A plan is only as valuable as the conversation that created it. Even if circumstances change the moment after it's written, the real benefit is shared awareness: understanding the terrain, identifying what matters, and being ready to adapt.

People First, Then Process

The best tools and systems are the ones you’ll actually use. If planning becomes painful or overly complex, it gets abandoned. My goal is always to build flexible, lightweight structures that support you—not weigh you down.

Balance as Strategic Advantage

Not everything needs a chart. Knowing what’s just enough structure takes experience—and the discipline to say no to overkill. I help clients find the rhythm, priorities, and points of leverage that keep things moving forward.

Team

Principal Consultant

Hi, I’m Jen — a project manager turned small business owner who’s passionate about helping entrepreneurs bring clarity and ease to the way they work, without losing what makes them unique.

My career started in corporate IT, where I managed complex software and product development projects for companies like Intel. I’ve always loved solving puzzles: aligning moving parts, clarifying goals, and turning big ideas into practical, workable plans.

Eventually, I decided to apply those skills in a more hands-on and human environment. I launched my own business — originally a handmade product company — which quickly became a living lab for designing streamlined systems, customer-centered processes, and just-in-time operations. I built every workflow from the ground up, not because I had to, but because I genuinely love making things run better.

Over the past decade, I’ve worn just about every hat imaginable — from product development to inventory to live customer service — and through that experience, I’ve found my sweet spot:

helping other business owners bring their ideas to life through structure, calm, and a little bit of strategy magic.

Today, I work with founders and small teams who are growing fast and want to bring more focus, ease, and intentionality to how they operate. My clients are thoughtful, creative, and deeply invested in their work — and they’re ready to align the day-to-day with the big picture.

I bring planning and systems thinking to the table in a way that’s supportive, not overwhelming. I believe the best structure is the one that fits how you work. And that decision-making gets a lot easier when your priorities are clear and your next steps are visible.

The 10-Year Arc: How I Keep Reinventing Myself Every Decade

I’ve spent the last few decades collecting a ridiculous range of experience — here’s how that unfolded, 10 years at a time:

  • First 10 – The Tinkerer Years
Built inventory systems before Windows existed. Wrangled real manufacturing data. Learned that “IT” means “you’re the only one who knows how the system works, so please never take vacation.”

  • Second 10 – Software Consulting & Criminal Justice Chaos
Got into the business of untangling complexity. Large systems. Government clients. High stakes. Ran serious projects long before “digital transformation” was a thing.

  • Third 10 – Corporate Strategy & Kool-Aid Drinking
Entered the high-tech strategy machine. Learned how to say “synergistic cooperation” with a straight face. Became fluent in buzzword, PowerPoint, and steering committee survival tactics.

  • Fourth 10 – The Great Rewilding: Blossom to Bath
Traded slide decks for shea butter. Built a handcrafted body care brand from scratch. Made beautiful things. Shipped thousands of orders. Discovered that selling soap is somehow harder than selling software.

  • Fifth 10 – Who Knows, But It’s Not Going to Be Boring
This is the Wild Card Era. I’m blending everything — strategy, operations, systems, creativity — into flexible consulting support for teams who need to get things done without drama or delay.

And I still hate status meetings that could have been an email.
